Definition:
On the Styrian side little common name for the area in the N of the Salza Valley, which is partly developed as a forest middle mountain range, partly also as a high mountain range and almost completely built up from carbonate rocks of the Triassic. The Kraeuterinstock was emphasized as an independent partial landscape, the heart of which is the Karst plateau of the Kraeuterin and which, with the Hochstadl, 1919 m, is the highest elevation of the entire Ybbstaler Alps, which are mostly located in Lower Austria.
