Definition:
This is the name for the Mur valley between Bruck/Mur and Graz, which is the breakthrough of the Mur through the crystallized mountain ranges of the Styrian mountains and the Graz mountains. The valley, filled with fluvial and fluvio-glacial sediments, is divided into several valley chambers separated by narrow valleys, of which the Gratwein-Gratkorner Basin was given the status of an independent sub-area.
