Koeflach-Voitsberger basin
Definition:
Well-established name for a landscape that is strongly perceived by the population as a unit, even with distinct features of regional identity. The basin, which is open to the foothills (West Styrian Riedelland) towards the E, has a relatively complicated topography and an equally complicated inner structure (tertiary coal troughs), which is why it is very difficult to define its cultural and natural features, despite its independence - in this case in particular, the registered borderline is based on many compromises.
